The Minnesota Board of Pharmacy exists to promote, preserve, and protect the public health, safety, and welfare by fostering the safe distribution of pharmaceuticals and the provision of quality pharmaceutical care for the citizens of Minnesota.
This position is a part of the Controlled Substances Reporting Section which consists of the Opiate Product Registration and Fee Program (OPRFP), Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP), and Insulin Manufacturer Registration Fee Program. This position exists to maintain and enhance the OPRFP, working with contracted vendor to ensure database and data extraction tools are preforming as specified and applying data analytics to interpret, draw conclusions and make recommendations regarding the opiate product registration fee based on statutory direction. The incumbent will collaborate with board staff in ensuring compliance in reporting and data quality/integrity, extracting specific data from the OPRFP database and providing preliminary analysis and interpretation. Further responsibility includes developing and analyzing processes, procedures and performance metrics pertinent to the effectiveness and success of this complex state program. This position serves as a vital component of the State’s efforts to combat the opioid abuse epidemic. This position will assist in supporting the Prescription Monitoring Program.
Minimum Qualifications
+ One year of experience working with various databases. This includes knowledge of reporting tools and reporting analysis to summarize complex information, prepare reports, create recommendations, and present facts, findings, and recommendations.
+ Communications skills sufficient to speak, read, and write fluently; communicate clearly with others; identify and correct grammar and spelling errors in professional documents; and understand and effectively carry out oral and written instructions.
+ Proficiency in standard computer software programs for word processing, presentations, and spreadsheets sufficient to draft and edit documents, produce reports, letters, memos, and other correspondence in appropriate business style.
+ Experience providing training and technical assistance.
+ Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy.
+ Ability to interact with others in a courteous manner including use of common courtesy, tact, and problem solving.
+ Ability to develop, modify, evaluate, and improve policies, instructions, and operating guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration, data management, healthcare administration, information systems, or a related field.
+ Strong administrative and organizational skills.
+ Knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology and the industry.
+ Familiarity with the Board of Pharmacy's functions, statutes, policies and regulations as it relates to the programs administered and services provided by the Board.
+ Experience delivering effective customer service.
