The Role
The Sr. Director Product Management Managed Security Services leads the strategy, development, and full lifecycle management of Lumen’s Managed Security Services (MSS) product portfolio. This role focuses on delivering scalable, repeatable, and high-value security solutions — such as EDR, AMDR, CWP, and SOC-as-a-Service — through a managed services model aligned with Lumen’s broader network and cloud ecosystem. Reports to VP, Product Fabric Solutions and collaborates closely with Security Operations, Engineering, Compliance, Sales, and the Global Customer Success teams to ensure secure, compliant, and customer-centric service delivery. Acts as a key driver of Lumen’s mission to protect enterprise customers through proactive, intelligent, and outcome-based managed security offerings.
The Main Responsibilities
+ Owns the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Lumen’s MSS portfolio.
+ Designs security as a service offerings that are operationally sound, customer-ready, and aligned to Lumen’s delivery frameworks, portals, and platforms.
+ Partners with Engineering and Operations to build automated, cloud-native, and AI-enhanced security services integrated with SIEM/SOAR platforms and threat intelligence feeds.
+ Ensures MSS offerings integrate tightly with Lumen’s Managed Network Services (MNS) portfolio — particularly around SD-WAN, SASE, and edge/cloud security convergence.
+ Collaborates with Compliance and Legal teams to ensure services support industry-specific regulatory requirements (e.g., FedRAMP, HIPAA, PCI-DSS) and customer audit-readiness.
+ Develops and maintains service definitions, SLAs, onboarding playbooks, and runbooks to support delivery excellence and operational scale.
+ Engages with Sales Engineering and Solution Architects to develop prescriptive service design patterns and guide strategic customer opportunities.
+ Owns portfolio financials, including managed service attach rates, ARR growth, cost-to-serve, margin targets, and retention.
+ Provides training and enablement for go-to-market teams, including service positioning, pricing, and competitive differentiation.
+ Delivers executive-level presentations and business cases to support ongoing investment, roadmap acceleration, and service innovation.
What We Look For in a Candidate
Experience
+ 10+ years in cybersecurity or IT services, with direct experience building or managing managed security services
+ Strong working knowledge of SOC operations, MDR models, SIEM/SOAR platforms, SASE architecture, and third-party threat feeds
+ Demonstrated experience in designing and commercializing managed services for enterprise or public sector clients
Education
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Cybersecurity, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; MBA or advanced technical degree preferred
Other Job Requirements
+ Ability to translate technical capabilities into customer-facing services with clear value propositions
+ Experience with compliance-driven environments and regulatory-aligned service design
+ Strong understanding of SLAs, service architecture, and operational delivery models (e.g., ITIL)
+ Excellent financial acumen including experience with pricing models, margin analysis, and business case development
+ Capable of leading cross-functional and matrixed teams across product, engineering, operations, and sales
+ Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
+ Travel: ~10% as required for customer, partner, or internal alignment
Compensation
This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.
Location Based Pay Ranges:
$171,447 - $228,596 in these states: AL, AR, AZ, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, ME, MO, MS, MT, ND, NE, NM, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, UT, VT, WI, WV, and WY.
$180,020 - $240,026 in these states: CO, HI, MI, MN, NC, NH, NV, OR, and RI.
$188,592 - $251,456 in these states: AK, CA, CT, DC, DE, IL, MA, MD, NJ, NY, TX, VA, and WA.
