    Director, Emergency Services at St. Louis Children's Hospital

     

    This leader will oversee the Emergency Services, Trauma Services, EMS Outreach Programs, provide oversight for the STAR Program and oversee the Safety Stop Program for St. Louis Children's Hospital.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Role Purpose

     

    Provides strategic vision and direction for the Emergency Department, Emergency Transport Team and Trauma Program. Accountable for effective operations and management of these programs. Ensures development of staff and systems to provide outstanding patient care and service, meet all regulatory requirements, and achieve success in all key result areas for scope of responsibility. Partners effectively with physician staff to ensure outcomes are achieved.

    Responsibilities

    + Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: onboarding and hiring, training, workload management & performance evaluations, conducting professional development plans as needed. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.

    + Analyzes financial performance including profitability, market share, utilization of resources and physician practice patterns, and makes plans to positively impact results.

    + Sets the department priorities in alignment with the priorities of the organization.

    + Analyzes trends and statistics to promote efficient utilization of resources and promote quality improvement.

    + Ensures effective coordination and collaboration with chiefs of medical staff.

    + Plans, develops, and directs operations of department and integrates these services with other departments.

    Minimum Requirements:

    Education

    + RN

    + Master's Degree

     

    - Business/Healthcare related

    Experience

    + 5-10 years

    Supervisor Experience

    + 5-10 years

    Preferred Requirements:

    Pediatrics and/or Emergency Services Experience
