Summary:
IMTS is seeking a highly qualified Cybersecurity Analyst (Subject Matter Expert) to serve as a senior technical and strategic advisor within the FBI’s Enterprise Security Operations Center (ESOC). As a SME on the Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) Team, you will play a pivotal role in identifying, analyzing, and responding to advanced cyber threats. You will leverage your expert-level knowledge to guide cybersecurity strategy, shape threat detection capabilities, and advise on proactive defense measures against evolving threats.
This role demands deep technical proficiency, thought leadership, and the ability to translate intelligence into actionable outcomes that directly strengthen national security operations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide expert-level cyber threat analysis across complex systems and mission-critical programs from inception through implementation.
• Monitor, triage, and assess internal and external cyber threat intelligence feeds for indicators of compromise (IOCs), tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs).
• Deliver strategic and tactical intelligence that informs SOC operations and supports enterprise-wide defense initiatives.
• Perform in-depth analysis of cyber incidents and provide recommendations for mitigation, remediation, and future risk reduction.
• Consult directly with federal stakeholders to define cybersecurity challenges and lead targeted studies to collect and analyze operational data.
• Supervise the development and implementation of threat detection methodologies, security controls, and assessment protocols.
• Develop and disseminate intelligence reports and executive briefings that clearly communicate threat posture, trends, and risk impact.
• Leverage platforms such as MITRE ATT&CK, Splunk Enterprise Security, and Microsoft Sentinel to enrich threat intelligence workflows.
• Recommend and refine cybersecurity best practices, ensuring alignment with industry standards and federal guidelines.
Required Skills & Experience:
• Active Top Secret (TS) Clearance required, with ability to obtain SCI.
• Minimum of 10 years of cybersecurity experience, preferably with direct experience in Cyber Threat Intelligence or advanced SOC operations. (Exceptional expertise or certifications may substitute for years of experience.)
• Recognized as a Subject Matter Expert in cybersecurity, with demonstrated leadership on large-scale technical tasks or technology assignments.
• Deep knowledge of network security, attack vectors, malware behavior, and threat actor tactics.
• Proficiency in analyzing technical data and translating findings into executive-level intelligence products.
• Hands-on experience with threat intelligence platforms and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools.
• Strong understanding of MITRE ATT&CK framework and cyber kill chain methodology.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders and guide junior analysts.

• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
• Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
• Certified Cyber Threat Intelligence Analyst (CCTIA)
• GIAC Cyber Threat Intelligence (GCTI) or other equivalent certification
