    We currently have an opportunity for an **Employee Benefits Strategist** to join the team.

     

    The Employee Benefits Strategist is responsible for consistently delivering an experience that is deliberately designed to make our clients more successful in their strategy, more knowledgeable of/in their people and more comfortable with the decisions they have available. You will be responsible for augmenting our production force in sharing our HUB Value Proposition to deliver quality employee experiences for our prospects and future customers. You will play the role of Storyteller, and will be the part of the team that helps our clients connect the dots in strategic meetings, using our proprietary software platform and your experience to clarify a client’s current position and preview what is ahead.

     

    Reporting to the HUB Mid-Atlantic’s Employee Benefits President, this position is best filled by a passionate employee benefits expert with a flair for communication. You will be the bridge between heady technical information and the “what can I do next” execution steps for a client. You will translate data into insights and insights into action. You will help simplify strategies into actionable steps and connect in our industry and specialty practices where appropriate. You will be the proxy for the experts and practices that are with other clients.

     

    This role is highly visible within the Employee Benefits operation. In partnership with the EB Sales Leader and EB Practice Leader, you will help HUB Mid-Atlantic drive organic growth and retention, respectively. You will collaborate with the Chief Sales Officer and the heads of our Specialty Practices to hone our message and increase our client value.

    Job Responsibilities:

    + Convey our HUB Value Proposition in conversations with prospects

    + Assist teams in threading a narrative around the interrelation of a client’s employees, their behaviors and the underlying costs of those decisions

    + Drive immersive tools with clients to reveal truths about their plans, designs, etc. and align outcomes with their goals and objectives

    + Assist our producers with closing new business by speaking to every HUB specialty

    + Ensure we are delivering the right sales and consulting experience

    + Join large or otherwise important cases as a strategic presence

    + Play a key role at finalist meetings as an Employee Benefits Expert

    + Activate and strategically deploys specialty services and experts to win business, secure existing accounts and evolve multi-year plans for our customers

    + Go do the “tough stuff” and position your experts and resources to be the best for a client.

    + Embrace new technology to aid in telling the right story for our clients and prospects

    + Help provide thought leadership for technical aspects of Employee Benefits

    + Assist with best practices for account stewardship

    + Develop long-lasting relationships with client teams and producers to grow and retain business

    + Positively and proactively represent HUB in meetings, seminars, trade shows and networking events

    + Perform other duties as assigned

    + Responsible for conducting business in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of both the business and earnings implications of the Company.

    + Keep informed of changes and trends within the industry for the purpose of anticipation and responding to profit objectives.

    + Foster an organization of continuous improvement.

    + Attend and complete any training sessions or assignments as required.

    + Establish and maintain effective professional working relationships with co-workers, and every level of management.

    + Communicate with co-workers, management, clients, and others in a courteous and professional manner.

    + Communicate complex messages clearly and credibly.

    + Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.

    + Other responsibilities and projects as assigned by Manager.

    Qualifications:

    + Resident Life and Health insurance license

    + 10+ years’ insurance experience, specifically in Employee Benefits, designations preferred

    + 10+ years’ experience in customer service within a business-to-business environment

    + Proven leadership, mentoring, and team-building skills

    + Self-sufficient and self-motivated with the ability to work independently

    + Bachelor’s degree in Business or similar equivalent experience

    + High energy, detail-oriented self-starter

    + Significant skill in handling competing demands and projects

    + Competent use of standard office tools/software (e.g. MS Office) is also expected

    + Excellent written and oral communication skills

    + Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize and delegate responsibility

    + Strong ability to listen, discern, prioritize, and negotiate with clients and insurance carrier representatives based on a deep understanding of relevant issues

    + Ability to evaluate and make decisions, recognize potential hazards and observe appropriate precautions, understand and remember detailed instructions

    _The expected salary range for this position is_** **_$165,000 to $200,000_** **_and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level.
