Who we want
We are seeking a dynamic and creative Writer/Producer to join the Teaching & Learning Innovation (TLI) Team at Mays Business School. Under the direction of the Director of Learning Media you will craft compelling narratives while shaping innovative, hybrid and online digital learning experiences for graduate and executive learners across the Flex Online Portfolio.
Collaborating closely with faculty, instructional designers, and media professionals you will coordinate multifaceted projects, and ensure seamless integration of visuals and media elements. What you need to know
Salary: $57,741 to $70,574 ( commensurate to selected hire’s experience)

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
+ Bachelor’s degree in communication, media production, journalism, or a related field.
+ Three years of experience in script-writing, editing, media production, or related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Master’s degree in a relevant field.
+ Five years of experience in script-writing, editing, media production, or related experience.
+ Experience working with instructional designers and faculty in an educational or academic media setting.
+ Familiarity with instructional design principles and online course development workflows.
+ Experience working in higher education or supporting online learning initiatives.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
+ Excellent writing and editing skills with strong attention to detail.
+ Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
+ Strong organizational and time-management skills.
+ Proficiency in media production tools, content management systems, and learning management systems.
+ Knowledge of accessibility standards and closed captioning workflows.
+ Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
+ Creative problem-solving skills and a passion for educational storytelling.
Responsibilities
Script-writing and Content Development
+ Write, review, and edit scripts for clarity, accuracy, engagement, and alignment with learning objectives.
+ Collaborate with instructors, instructional designers, and subject matter experts to refine messaging and maintain instructional integrity.
+ Contribute to the development of content strategies that support innovative and effective educational media experiences.
Project Coordination and Production Planning
+ Oversee assigned media projects from concept to delivery, ensuring timely completion and high production standards.
+ Develop project timelines, assign tasks, and monitor progress to meet deadlines and quality expectations.
+ Serve as a liaison between faculty, designers, and media staff to ensure coordination across stakeholders.
Graphics and Media Integration
+ Work with the media team to identify and plan the use of graphics, illustrations, and other multimedia elements that support course content.
+ Ensure that media components are pedagogically aligned and visually cohesive.
+ Communicate clearly with visual designers to translate conceptual ideas into effective visual assets.
Closed Captioning and Accessibility
+ Manage the closed captioning process for video content, including ordering, implementing, and formatting captions.
+ Ensure all media meets accessibility standards in accordance with WCAG, ADA, and Section 508 guidelines.
+ Archive captions and related accessibility assets for ongoing and future course use.
Collaboration and Innovation
+ Participate in brainstorming sessions and team meetings to contribute ideas that enhance media production workflows and learner engagement.
+ Stay informed about trends in educational media and help integrate new approaches into existing production processes.
+ Support continuous improvement initiatives within the media production team.
