What we want
The School of Law is seeking an innovative and driven Assistant Director of Marketing & Communications to join our vibrant team! In this role you'll lead the planning, development, and execution of compelling content and impactful projects. You'll coordinate seamlessly with internal colleagues and external partners to bring our marketing and communications vision to life, ensuring the smooth operation of our department's diverse functions and contributing to the achievement of our strategic goals.
What you need to know
Salary: $69,000 - $74,000 (Compensation will be commensurate to selected hire’s experience)

Note: Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends throughout the year
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
+ Bachelor’s degree in communications or equivalent combination of education and experience
+ Six years of marketing and/or communication experience (planning and producing a variety of materials and projects)
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or public relations
+ Experience building and maintaining processes and systems to support marketing and communications efforts
+ Some prior supervisory experience
+ Experience managing and project management platforms/systems
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
+ Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud applications preferred
+ Proficiency with email marketing, CRM and CMS platforms (HubSpot or similar)
+ Proficiency with communications project management and collaboration platforms (similar to Trello, Wrike, Monday, MS Teams, Slack, etc.)
+ Knowledge of paid and organic social media management best practices and tools. Ability to own projects, while cheerfully collaborating and adjusting to shifting priorities
Responsibilities
Planning and Implementation:
+ Establishes and maintains processes, systems and workflows to ensure cohesive operations within the department to achieve strategic communications and marketing goals
+ Develops marketing and communications plans and distributes content that serves the strategic goals of the School of Law, such as reputational and promotional campaigns, media/PR, paid and organic social media planning and implementation, event promotion, etc.
+ Creates and collaborates in producing content (writing, editing, designing, distribution) as necessary to ensure timely execution and quality
+ Conducts analyses of marketing efforts and makes recommendations to ensure effectiveness
+ Collaborates on budget planning and management under the Senior Director's supervision
Internal Facilitation and Collaboration:
+ Serves as a catalyst and point of contact for faculty, program directors, staff, students and others to ensure the smooth flow of high-value content from discovery to distribution
+ Leads scheduling, coordination, and implementation of content and requests from across the school’s faculty and various departments to support communications and marketing objectives
+ Coordinates with internal and external partners such as digital content managers, designers, illustrators, writers, and developers
+ In collaboration with Senior Director and others — evaluates vendors, negotiates rates, makes purchase, design and production decisions
Intra-Function Support:
+ Supports event management and alumni relations efforts, including communications and promotion for and attendance at events
+ Supports internal (faculty, staff, student) communications, in collaboration with other functions: IT, HR, Student Affairs, the Dean's office, etc.
+ Manages special projects as assigned by the Senior Director
