How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)
The Specialist, International Network Planning, is responsible for developing, analyzing and recommending airline route network strategies on a route and a city level to maximize profitability.
Primary functions:
+ Manage a set of markets to maximize profitability and competitive positioning
+ Identify opportunities to reallocate aircraft from low performing to high performing markets
+ Synthesize information from large data sets to drive decisions on capacity positioning and market strategy
+ Analyze changes to the competitive environment and suggest strategies and tactics to improve Delta’s positioning in the competitive landscape
+ Manage the schedule creation process, interfacing with Schedule Planning and Publication teams to ensure Delta’s schedules are correctly on display for the consumer
+ Interface with other departments including Revenue Management, Sales, Corporate Real Estate, ACS, Legal and Fleet, among others, to ensure cross-commercial alignment on key projects
+ Forecast new markets for Delta service
+ Coordinate the relationship between Delta and our international JV partners, as necessary
+ Develop PowerPoint presentations clearly articulating strategy, recommendation, and benefits
+ Concisely communicate recommendations to all levels of management
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
+ 3-5 years of relevant airline commercial experience
+ Strong skills in strategic thinking, financial and economic modeling / analysis, project management, and oral and written presentations
+ Confident executive presence and oral communication skills; the ability to think on your feet in an environment with senior leaders
+ Refined storyline/narrative skills allowing for independent construction of executive-level slides
+ Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and to leverage resources across Delta
+ Deep knowledge of Delta’s network and the airline competitive landscape
+ Experience in negotiations, international relationship management, and a diplomatic interpersonal mindset
+ Extensive experience with PowerPoint, Excel, and database querying, with knowledge of Delta’s analytical databases (RPAD, FPS, DDS, MIDT, DOT O&D, OAPM, etc)
+ SAS and advanced statistical modeling / database querying skills preferred
+ Strong understanding of how to effectively query, aggregate, and manipulate data
+ Top-tier verbal and written communication skills
+ Results oriented and capable of meeting deadlines with attention to detail and follow through
+ Ability to work well with others in a time sensitive environment with minimal supervision
+ Must be performing satisfactorily in current position
+ Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
+ Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
+ Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
+ Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.

+ Prior airline network planning experience
+ Advanced degree in a quantitative field (business, finance, economics, mathematics, or related)
