Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a DevOps Engineer to join the virtual broadcast production engineer team. This individual will support and maintain systems across hybrid cloud environments. They will be responsible for on-call support, systems administration, patching, and monitoring of critical infrastructure and services. This individual will be supporting the Virtualized Production Platform that is built on Kubernetes and cross plane with a handful of custom provisioners in Golang and used for deploying and infrastructure in AWS. This person will be writing unit tests for provisioners and verifying that business logic translates to implementation. This person will be responsible for improving test coverage that is currently lacking. Additional to unit testing, this person will help write logic for provisioners, improving CI/CD pipeline. This individual will be working with 4-5 engineers in a collaborative environment.

Skills and Requirements

- 3-5+ years with proficiency in Go: Comfortable with Go (generics, reflection, goroutines, channels), experience working with embedded types, code generation and with Gos `testing` package.

- CI/CD & GitOps: Familiarity with GitOps principals and automated deployment pipelines leveraging tools such as GitHub Actions, Flux, or ArgoCD

- DevOps experience and infrastructure a code

- Strong familiarity with AWS

- Strong written and verbal communication. Ability to work with technical and non-technical individuals - Kubernetes: Understanding of kustomizations, helm, custom resources, preferably experience implementing operators/controllers, designing CRDs, and handling reconcilers.

- Crossplane: Familiarity with creating and managing Crossplane resources (XRDs, Compositions, Functions) to provision cloud infrastructure, or similar infrastructure as code tools such as terraform / pulumi null
