    Job Description

    A client has developed an application used by 35 states to recruit, vet, and mobilize health care responders. Each state has customized their site, and we are now in the process of migrating data from the old system to the new one.

     

    We are seeking a skilled Data Migration Software Engineer to facilitate the migration of data from the old system to the new one for each of our 35 state clients. The first migration is scheduled for May 15, and we aim to complete all migrations by early next year. This role involves customizing the migration application for each client, running the migration, testing the results, and resolving any issues that arise.

     

    -Customize the migration application for each client.

     

    -Execute data migrations from the old system to the new system.

     

    -Test and validate migration results.

     

    -Identify and resolve any issues found during the migration process.

     

    -Collaborate with the existing migration specialist to increase migration velocity.

     

    -Communicate status updates to stakeholders and clients.

     

    -Proactively identify work to be done and potential issues.

     

    Compensation: $40/hour to $50/hour

     

    Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

    Skills and Requirements

     

    -Java Competence: Experienced and competent in Java programming.

     

    -Spring Boot Competence: Familiarity with basic Spring Boot features (dependency injection, annotations, etc.).

     

    -SQL Competence: Ability to write moderately complex queries that perform reasonably well.

     

    -Time Management: Ability to prioritize and deliver multiple tasks concurrently to complete 34 migrations in less than a year.

     

    -Quality Assurance: Willingness and ability to test and validate work.

     

    -Initiative: Proactive in identifying work to be done and potential issues.

     

    -Communication: Clear communication skills to update stakeholders and work with clients to resolve migration issues.
