Job Description

The Senior Principal Software Engineer in Test will play a pivotal role at a fortune 100 CPG company in software development activities and long-term initiative planning and collaboration across the Strategy & Transformation (S&T) organization. Software Engineering is the cornerstone of scalable digital transformation across this company's value chain. This leader will deliver the end-to-end software development experience, deliver high quality software as part of the DevOps process, and have accountability for our business operations.

The senior leader in this role will provide technical oversight and direction to our software development team to ensure we deliver the best possible software solutions and ensure they are generating value through cost savings or incremental value. This senior leader will work closely with the user experience, product, IT, and process engineering teams to develop new products and prioritize deliver solutions across S&T core priorities.

Role Responsibilities:

1. Support the vision and guide a team of engineers to build and support digital products and services (DPS) across S&T core priorities

2. Drive partnerships with User Experience, Product Management, IT, Data & Analytics, Emerging Tech, Innovation, and Process Engineering teams to deliver the Digital Products portfolio

3. Develop software development and testing strategy utilizing industry standards. Create roadmap and timing of implementation of the roadmap based on business requirements and strategy.

4. Lead multi-discipline, high-performance work teams distributed across remote locations effectively. Build, manage, develop, and mentor a team of engineers.

5. Interact with executives across the company to lead the narrative around software engineering

6. Develop and expand DPS capabilities through a customer obsessed, services-driven digital solutions platform that leverages data and AI to deliver automated and personalized experiences

7. Manage and appropriately escalate delivery impediments, risks, issues, and changes tied to the engineering initiatives to the stakeholders

8. Interact with key business partners to recommend solutions that best meet the strategic needs of the business

9. Oversee all activities of the internal and external test resources that are assigned toyoure your programs.

10. Collaborate with your peers from other organizations to ensure that we have adequate coverage and minimizing duplication.

Skills and Requirements

12+ years in the IT industry in Development or Testing

5+ years being a Principal Software Engineer in Test at a fortune 500 company

Expert level with Azure DevOps

Able to work 5am CST - 1:30pm CST to overlap with CST time zone

Past experience being the point person who's "orchestrating" all of the testing

5+ years experience of leading the end-to-end testing for distributed web/mobile applications

Commanding knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design

Programming languages One or more of Java / Python, for writing Automation Scripts

Coding experience in automation testing frameworks, tools & services like Selenium, Appium, JUnit, Cucumber, LoadRunner Master's Degree null
