The firm’s work can be found across the globe, with projects as wide-ranging as huts to high rises, homes—often for art collectors—to academic, cultural and civic projects, museums and exhibition design, places of worship, creative production, urban design, and interior design.
Currently, we are seeking a Temporary HR Generalist to join and support our Human Resources team for a duration of 6-8 months. Key responsibilities focus on administering leaves of absence, supporting open enrollment, and assisting with year-end adjustments.
Primary Responsibilities:
Health and Financial Benefits :
+ Provide day-to-day benefits administration. Ensure the accuracy of employee benefits data, including service from third-party vendors
+ Work with the benefits consultants on benefit renewals, vendor changes, audits, and compliance activities for employee benefits, including health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, retirement plans, life insurance, disability insurance, and other voluntary benefits.
+ Performs monthly reconciliation of benefit invoicing and enrollment records.
+ Act as a point of escalation for employee benefits-related inquiries
+ Create, maintain & update benefits operating procedure manuals to ensure processes are adhered to consistently. Assist in developing and implementing HR policies and procedures related to benefits administration
+ Analyze benefit utilization, costs, and trends to identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and enhancements to the overall benefits package.
+ Communicate benefits programs to employees using presentations, written materials, and emails to promote understanding and appreciation of benefit programs.
+ Collaborate with leadership and other stakeholders to design and implement innovative benefit programs that support the recruitment, retention, and engagement of top talent.
Leave of Absence and Alternative Work Arrangements :
+ Serve as Leave Management Administrator responsible for processing requests and determining eligibility for FMLA and state leaves .
+ Consult with employees and management, track leave usage, and coordinate with payroll to ensure accurate coding and manage donated leave program.
+ Assist with employee accommodations and employee relations
People Operations and Talent Management :
+ Partners with HR and Payroll team to manage the employee lifecycle, including onboarding and offboarding and employee relations
+ Creates, runs, and distributes ad-hoc HRIS reports, including but not limited to leave of absences, employee rosters, reporting relationships, and individual management requests as directed .
Additional duties and projects:
+ Helps with the creation of the company's employee policies in the area of human resources.
+ Assists management in disseminating HR policies, procedures, programs, and laws.
+ Evaluates, recommends, and implements opportunities to enhance productivity, efficiency and enhanced HR administrative support and policy development.
+ May serve on various organizational committees.
Education/Skills/Experience:
+ Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or closely related field or equivalent experience.
+ Minimum 3 years of progressive HR experience with direct experience administering benefit and/or leave programs Or similar role with equivalent work experience.
+ Demonstrated competency in understanding of relevant employment laws and regulations, including FMLA, ADA HIPAA, COBRA.
+ Knowledge of relevant labor laws and regulations, such as FMLA, State Leave laws, ADA, and compliance requirements.
+ Knowledge on approaches to structuring and delivering HR services to support operational and organizational success.
+ Able to convey information clearly and empathetically, both verbally and in writing, to resolve issues, provide feedback, and build rapport with employees and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
+ The ability to analyze data, evaluate complex situations, identify trends, consider multiple perspectives, and derive insights is fundamental especially when assessing the feasibility of project plans, identifying potential issues, generating solutions, and implementing effective strategies to overcome obstacles.
+ Able to address complex challenges with creative problem-solving, analytical thinking, and presenting effective solutions and recommendations for unique situations.

As a firm, we are committed to pay practices that are fair, competitive, and reflect internal pay equity. At the time of posting this job, the hiring range for this temporary position in Seattle is between $40 - $43/hr. Final salary decisions are made based upon the extent and relatedness of the candidate’s education and experience and considering internal equity and external market factors.
