    Job Summary & Essential Functions:

    Build through-hole (THT) and surface mount (SMT) printed circuit board assemblies, placing components on boards per controlled parts lists, drawing documentation and quality workmanship guidelines.

     

    • Assemble electrical or electromechanical devices or components using a variety of hardware/tools

    o Pull up documentation required to preform work on customer assemblies

    o Hand soldering of surface mount, through-hole components and complex wiring

    • Repair of fine pitch/BGA

    • Small gauge wire bonding

    • Precise RTV application

    • Fine soldering using a microscope

    o Performs touch ups, rework and repair

    • Fix missing/damaged PCB marking

    • Repair damaged conductors and cuts

    • Fix board delamination/blister

    • Fix board base material damage

    • Pad repairs

    • Fixing lifted/missing pads/TH

    • Removing/replacing conformal coating

    • Replacing damaged components (e.g. Through-hole, SMT, BGA’s)

    o Operate a variety of equipment as needed to fulfill customer requirements

    • Knowledge of soldering iron tips and chemicals

    • Hot air

    • Desoldering system

    • Microscope

    o Able to identify defects in accordance with applicable workmanship standard and class

    o Responsible for the proper handling of product and components

    o Responsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in their work area

    o Perform other assignments as required

    Required Skills & Qualifications:

    • J-STD-001 certified

    • IPC-7721 certified

    • Advanced soldering skills

    • Ability to read and understand engineering assembly drawings

    • Ability to read and follow assembly instructions

    • Ability to build electrical and electromechanical assemblies

    • Strong mechanical aptitude and dexterity

    • Ability to use tools and testing devices

    • Strong math and measurement skills

    • High level of attention to detail and accuracy

    • Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills

    • Mentor Hand Solderer 1 and Hand Solderer 2
