*Summary:*
The Academy for Career Readiness aims to address the shortage of healthcare workers while empowering at-risk and moderately disconnected youth (aged 18-26) in Connecticut by providing them with job training and support for entry-level healthcare roles. The program focuses on both educational and career development, equipping participants with the skills necessary for success in the healthcare industry.
As the Academy Program Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and management of the program. You will ensure it meets its goals of engaging nearly 2,000 participants and directly hiring over 1,000 youth by the end of the five-year program. You will work closely with community partners, internal staff, and key stakeholders to provide training, support, and pathways to employment for program participants
*Responsibilities:*
*Key Responsibilities*
* *Program Management*: Leads the daily operations of the Academy for Career Readiness, ensuring the effective rollout of training initiatives at Norwalk Hospital.
* *Partnership Coordination*: Builds and maintains internal relationships with hospital administration and staff, Workforce Development team members and with local community-based organizations (CBOs), ensuring the proper identification, vetting, and enrollment of at-risk youth into the program.
* *Participant Support*: Oversees the wrap-around services for participants, including peer mentoring, soft-skills coaching, and access to crisis funds. Ensure that these services are tailored to remove employment barriers and facilitate long-term success.
* *Staff Supervision*: Hires and manages a team dedicated to the program. Provide staff and program participants mentorship and guidance to ensure all program goals are achieved.
* *Curriculum Development*: Works with subject matter experts to refine and adapt the eight-to-12-week immersive educational experience, which includes a four-week preparatory training period and two distinct learning pathways (Fast-Track and Training/Certification).
* *Data Collection & Evaluation*: Monitors and reporst on program outcomes, including participant demographics, completion rates, and employment metrics. Work with the evaluation team to refine the program as needed based on quantitative and qualitative data.
* *Budget Oversight*: Manage the program�s financial resources and ensure the efficient use.
* *Community Engagement*: Representsthe Academy in public forums, actively promote the program within the healthcare and broader community, and secure additional support and partnerships as needed.
* *Compliance & Reporting*: Ensures that the program complies with all regulatory and funding requirements and provide regular updates to senior leadership on progress toward program goals.

*Qualifications*
* Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, public health, social work, education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in program management, workforce development, or a similar role, ideally within healthcare or a social services organization.
* Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale training programs and partnerships with community organizations.
* Strong leadership and team management skills with experience leading diverse teams.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across various sectors.
* Data-driven mindset, with experience in using data to drive program improvements and track outcomes.
* Familiarity with budget management and financial oversight for large-scale initiatives.
* Passion for community development and empowering at-risk populations.
*Preferred Skills*
* Experience in healthcare workforce development.
* Knowledge of Connecticut’s community-based organizations and at-risk youth populations.
* Experience with public speaking and community engagement.
