Description We are looking for a dedicated and personable Customer Service Representative to join our team in Richmond, Virginia. As a key point of contact for the community, you will assist residents with inquiries and provide accurate information about local government services. This is a long-term contract position offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in public service.
Responsibilities:
• Respond to inquiries from residents regarding government services, programs, and policies in a timely and detail-oriented manner.
• Guide individuals through government processes, ensuring their concerns and requests are addressed effectively.
• Collaborate with various departments to gather accurate information and provide thorough answers to customer questions.
• Stay informed about local government initiatives, policies, and updates to better assist the community.
• Handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion, maintaining trust with constituents.
• Utilize computer systems to input, update, and track customer information and requests.
• Provide clear and concise communication, both in person and via phone or email, to resolve issues and enhance customer satisfaction.
• Deliver exceptional service while managing a high volume of inquiries and maintaining a positive demeanor. Requirements • Previous experience in customer service, ideally within a government or public service environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with diverse community members.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail when addressing customer needs.
• Ability to manage sensitive information with a high degree of confidentiality.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new systems.
• Availability to work standard business hours, with occasional flexibility for evenings or weekends as required.
