What You’ll Work On

We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking technical leader to join our software organization. If you’re passionate about platform automation, full-lifecycle software testing, cloud and edge integration, and leading high-performance teams, we invite you to be part of our mission.

The Manager, Software Engineering, Platform and Test will own the strategy, execution, and leadership of our testing, integration, and DevOps functions. This role will drive software validation and solution reliability across cloud platforms, edge computing devices, and sensor ecosystems. You will lead multiple teams focused on functional and integration testing, deployment assurance, system uptime, and infrastructure automation.

In addition to overseeing quality and testing disciplines, you will be responsible for administering our DevOps team, ensuring scalable infrastructure, reliable CI/CD pipelines, and efficient delivery workflows across our software organization.

This role will serve as a key partner in shaping Campbell Scientific’s guiding principles for platform quality, software release management, and integrated solution verification—reporting directly to the Director of Software Operations.

You’ll Support Your Team by Performing the Following Key Tasks

+ Lead and manage teams responsible for:

+ Functional, regression, and integration testing.

+ Deployment testing and uptime monitoring of SaaS environments.

+ End-to-end solution verification across cloud software, embedded edge devices, and sensor systems.

+ DevOps practices including CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, system observability, and automated deployments.

+ Administer and grow the DevOps function, ensuring platform reliability, scalability, and security.

+ Define and implement overarching quality and platform test strategies, coverage goals, and best practices.

+ Design and enforce testing and validation principles that apply across software and hardware components.

+ Collaborate with product, engineering, and operations teams to ensure cohesive and reliable platform behavior.

+ Champion test automation, platform monitoring, and continuous integration improvements.

+ Develop quality and uptime metrics, dashboards, and regular reporting for leadership stakeholders.

+ Continuously identify risks in systems and processes, and lead initiatives to improve reliability and delivery speed.

What We're Looking For

+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).

+ 10+ years of experience in software engineering, QA, or DevOps roles, with 5+ years of leadership experience.

+ Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional test engineering and DevOps teams.

+ Proficiency in automated testing frameworks, deployment automation, and observability tooling.

+ Experience with cloud-native architectures and industrial/edge device integration.

+ Strong background in CI/CD, version control, infrastructure-as-code, and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).

+ Excellent collaboration and communication skills across engineering, operations, and product functions.

+ Experience with industrial IoT, environmental sensors, or edge computing platforms.

+ Working knowledge of containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

+ Familiarity with languages such as Python, Bash, or C# used in test automation and DevOps pipelines.

+ Certifications in DevOps, Agile, or cloud technologies.

Work Environment

Typical office work environment with computer workstation and travel environment (traveling to meet with clients, potential clients, and to industry tradeshows and conferences).

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds over short distances as needed while fulfilling job responsibilities. Must be capable of sitting for extended periods of time, bending, twisting, and other movement consistent with office environments.
