Position Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and customer-focused Help Desk Technician I to provide first-level technical support for end-users. This role is responsible for answering help desk requests, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and escalating more complex problems to higher-level support staff. It’s an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start their career in IT.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Serve as the first point of contact for users seeking technical assistance via phone, email, or ticketing system.
+ Provide basic troubleshooting for hardware, software, network, and printer issues.
+ Log, track, and document all incidents and service requests using the help desk ticketing system.
+ Assist with password resets, account unlocks, and user access requests.
+ Guide users through step-by-step solutions and technical instructions in a professional manner.
+ Install, configure, and update desktop and laptop hardware and software under supervision.
+ Escalate unresolved issues to Tier II/III support teams as necessary.
+ Maintain inventory of IT assets and perform routine system checks.
+ Support onboarding and offboarding by preparing and reclaiming IT equipment.
+ Follow standard procedures for proper escalation of unresolved issues.
Requirements
Qualifications:
+ High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Technical degree in IT preferred).
+ 0–2 years of experience in a help desk, technical support, or customer service role.
+ Basic understanding of Windows OS, Microsoft Office Suite, and common desktop applications.
+ Familiarity with help desk ticketing systems and remote support tools (e.g., TeamViewer, Remote Desktop).
+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
+ Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
+ Willingness to learn and grow in a technical environment.
Preferred Skills (Not Required but a Plus):
+ Basic knowledge of Active Directory, Exchange, and Office 365 administration.
+ CompTIA A+, Network+, or other IT certifications.
+ Experience working with service management frameworks such as ITIL.
