Description We are looking for a dedicated Medical Billing Specialist to join our team in Richmond, Virginia. In this Contract-to-permanent position, you will support our billing operations by handling tasks related to claims, payments, and insurance communication. Your expertise in medical billing and coding will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our processes.

Responsibilities:

• Process and submit medical claims accurately and in a timely manner.

• Perform data entry tasks to maintain up-to-date billing records.

• Post payments and reconcile accounts to ensure proper allocation.

• Address and resolve claim denials and appeals with insurance providers.

• Conduct medical billing and coding tasks, including procedural and diagnostic coding.

• Communicate effectively with insurance companies to resolve claim-related issues.

• Perform internal audits to ensure compliance with billing regulations and accuracy.

• Reconcile data and systems to maintain consistency and accuracy in records. Requirements • Proficiency in Medisoft software and Microsoft Excel.

• Strong understanding of accounts receivable processes.

• Experience with medical billing, coding, and claims management.

• Familiarity with handling appeals and resolving claim denials.

• Knowledge of medical coding standards, including procedural and diagnostic coding.

• Ability to follow up with insurance providers to resolve outstanding issues.

• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
