    Description

    Position Summary:

    We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Developer / Systems Analyst to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in software development, database design, and systems integration. This role will be responsible for developing and maintaining business applications, integrating third-party solutions, optimizing workflows, and improving overall system performance and service delivery.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Develop, manage, and test web services/APIs, with a focus on integrating third-party vendor applications.

    + Utilize development tools such as Microsoft Visual Studio and SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).

    + Design and build reports using analytics tools like Power BI and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).

    + Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze requirements and translate them into software specifications and technical documentation.

    + Build reusable code libraries and automate legacy systems to improve operational efficiency.

    + Implement and maintain client/server application components and ensure proper configuration.

    + Monitor and maintain database performance; apply patches and updates as needed.

    + Perform software installations, upgrades, and manage user rights, roles, and access.

    + Coordinate with internal teams to resolve application, network, and infrastructure conflicts.

    + Provide ongoing support for daily operations and after-hours production maintenance.

    + Follow ITIL/ITSM practices and problem-resolution procedures.

    + Research and evaluate emerging technologies to recommend process improvements.

    + Aid users in accessing vendor support and manage service requests as needed.

    + Assist with data extraction, report generation, and application deployment.

    Requirements

    Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.

    + Minimum of five (5) years of experience in software development and/or database design and support.

    + Proficient with Microsoft technologies including SQL Server, Microsoft Server, Active Directory, and IIS.

    + Experience with ERP systems and source control platforms.

    + Strong SQL development skills including stored procedures, queries, and data modeling.

    + Familiarity with IT service management best practices (ITIL, ITSM).

    + Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

    + Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.

    + Valid Florida Driver’s License and reliable transportation required (local travel to remote sites).

    Preferred Skills:

    + Experience with Power BI, SSRS, and other analytics tools

    + Familiarity with modern DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines

    + Knowledge of Agile development methodologies

    + Previous municipal or government IT experience is a plus
