Position Summary:
Join our dynamic Performance Engineering team, focused on ensuring high-quality, performant systems and applications. As we transition our code base to the cloud and modernize our technology stack, we are looking for a motivated Performance Engineer with a strong Java background, experience being a key contributor in SRE operations and experience with cloud platforms (GCP(strongly preferred) or Azure) and Kubernetes.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Develop tools and scripts for performance monitoring and automation, especially in cloud-native and containerized environments
+ Design, implement, and deliver automations to execute performance tests to identify bottlenecks and optimize system performance. These automations should be integrated via Dev Ops pipeline to assist engineering teams
+ Analyze performance test results and collaborate with engineering teams to resolve issues
+ Work with cross-functional teams to understand performance requirements and integrate performance testing into CI/CD pipelines
+ Contribute to cloud migration efforts by implementing best practices for performance in GCP or Azure, leveraging AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service) or GKE (Google Kubernetes Engine) for Kubernetes management
+ Identify performance bottlenecks that impact cloud-native workloads, tune and collaborate with other software teams to improve performance
Required Qualifications:
+ 5+ years of experience in Performance Engineering or a related field
+ 3+ years of experience in Java Spring Boot and knowledge of Java-based performance optimization
+ 3+ years of experience in performance testing and monitoring tools, including one of JMeter, LoadRunner, Splunk, AppDynamics or Grafana
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Solid understanding of cloud platforms (GCP or Azure) and Kubernetes, especially AKS or GKE
+ Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)
+ Competency with APIs & microservices-based design
+ Knowledge of infrastructure monitoring and scripting (Shell, Python)
+ Knowledge of container orchestration and microservices design
+ Familiarity with distributed systems and version control (Git)
+ Stay up to date with emerging technologies and trends in the AI field and explore ways to improve the performance of cloud-native workloads
+ Understanding of healthcare business
+ Overall understanding of current service capacity and trends of the application baseline and future growth
+ Knowledge of strategic business plans including major technology transformation programs and business releases
+ Knowledge of emerging technologies
Education:
+ Bachelor’s degree or, equivalent experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience)

Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$101,970.00 - $203,940.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
