Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable (AP) Manager to join our team. In this role, you will oversee the entire accounts payable process, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with company policies and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with exceptional analytical skills, who thrives in a fast-paced environment and brings expertise in managing payment cycles and vendor relations.

This position is integral to optimizing the financial operations of our organization and requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, mentorship, and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Accounts Payable Oversight:

+ Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounts payable department, including invoice processing, expense reporting, and vendor payments.

+ Ensure all accounts payable transactions are accurately recorded and posted to the general ledger in a timely manner.

+ Compliance and Reporting:

+ Monitor adherence to company policies, accounting standards, and relevant regulations.

+ Manage month-end and year-end closing activities, including account reconciliations and accruals.

+ Prepare and present accounts payable reports to management, including cash flow projections and aging reports.

+ Vendor Relationships:

+ Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure accurate and timely payments.

+ Handle vendor inquiries and disputes, resolving issues efficiently.

+ Evaluate and negotiate payment terms to optimize cash flow.

+ Team Leadership and Development:

+ Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of accounts payable specialists or clerks.

+ Conduct performance evaluations, provide training, and identify opportunities for skill development within the team.

+ Process Improvement:

+ Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and productivity of the accounts payable function.

+ Leverage accounts payable technology and software to streamline workflows and reduce manual tasks.

+ Audit and Documentation:

+ Ensure proper documentation and filing of accounts payable records to support audits and reviews.

+ Collaborate with auditors to provide required data and insights regarding payable operations.

Requirements

Qualifications:

+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).

+ 5+ years of accounts payable experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role.

+ Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes, general ledger systems, and GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).

+ Proficiency in Sage and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.

+ Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.

+ Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.

+ Experience with automation tools and accounts payable digitization is a strong plus.
