Description

We are seeking a Data Engineer with at least 4 years of experience with Azure to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in designing, building, and maintaining scalable, secure data solutions in the cloud. This is a hands-on technical role that requires expertise in developing and optimizing data pipelines, implementing advanced cloud solutions, and ensuring data accessibility and security. This opportunity is 100% on-site, 5 days per week. At this time, we are unable to support C2C or relocation.

Responsibilities:

+ Design, build, and maintain cloud-based data solutions leveraging Azure services, including Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Blob Storage.

+ Develop and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines to integrate structured and unstructured data from multiple sources.

+ Create and manage secure cloud environments, ensuring data integrity and consistency.

+ Collaborate across teams to understand data requirements and develop scalable solutions tailored to business needs.

+ Implement best practices for cloud data architecture, performance optimization, and cost management.

+ Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines to ensure uninterrupted service across cloud solutions.

+ Work with Azure services to transform and model data for analytics and reporting outcomes.

+ Implement and maintain security measures to comply with industry standards and internal policies.

+ Develop and maintain documentation, including architecture diagrams, processes, and workflows.

+ Stay up to date with developments in Azure technology, proposing solutions for continuous improvement.

Requirements

Qualifications and Requirements:

+ 4+ years of hands-on experience as a Data Engineer working with Microsoft Azure.

+ Proven expertise in using Azure services like Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure SQL Database, Azure Databricks, and Azure Blob Storage.

+ Strong proficiency in ETL/ELT design and development processes.

+ Experience working with scripting/programming languages such as Python and SQL, as well as big data tools within Azure.

+ Solid understanding of data models and database design principles, both relational and non-relational.

+ Knowledge of data security best practices and regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).

+ Hands-on experience with performance optimization and troubleshooting of cloud-based data solutions.

+ Familiarity with modern DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines for Azure environments.

+ Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex business requirements into technical solutions.

+ Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate or Azure Solutions Architect (preferred, but not required).

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).

+ Knowledge of distributed systems or big data technologies such as Hadoop or Spark.

+ Understanding of hybrid/cloud architecture approaches.

+ Familiarity with Azure Machine Learning or AI capabilities is a plus.

Education:

+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent professional experience may be considered.
