    Description

    We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Database Administrator (DBA) to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of our databases. You’ll play a key role in the planning and development of database architecture, as well as in troubleshooting and ensuring data availability and consistency across the organization.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Install, configure, and maintain database systems (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle)

    + Monitor database performance, implement changes, and apply new patches and versions when required

    + Ensure data integrity and security, including access control and disaster recovery planning

    + Optimize queries and indexes to improve system performance

    + Manage backup and recovery procedures

    + Collaborate with developers, analysts, and system administrators to support data needs

    + Create and maintain documentation related to database configuration, procedures, and policies

    + Implement automation scripts for routine maintenance and reporting tasks

    Requirements

    Required Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

    + 3+ years of experience in a database administration role

    + Strong proficiency with SQL and experience managing databases such as Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, or Oracle

    + Experience with performance tuning, query optimization, and data migration

    + Familiarity with backup and recovery strategies

    + Understanding of database security best practices

    + Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Experience with cloud-based databases (e.g., Azure SQL, AWS RDS, Google Cloud SQL)

    + Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash)

    + Experience with data warehousing and ETL processes

    + Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator or Oracle DBA
