Sr. Software Engineer w/Java and AWS (Onsite)

We are looking for a highly skilled Software Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in Spring boot, Java, and AWS. This role encompasses leadership responsibilities, including different planning strategies. By ensuring robust and efficient system operations, the candidate will play a key role in advancing our company’s mission.

Responsibilities

+ Develop and maintain high-quality software solutions using AWS, SQL, Spring Boot, and Java.

+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.

+ Ensure performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.

+ Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs.

+ Help maintain code quality, organization, and automation.

+ Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.

+ Work closely with product management to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications.

+ Implement security and data protection measures.

+ Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure our solutions remain current and effective.

+ Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.

+ Contribute to the continuous improvement of our development processes and practices.

+ Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

+ Support the deployment and monitoring of applications in production environments.

Qualifications

+ Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent and 7+ years of demonstrated experience.

+ Highly skilled Sr. Software Engineer with experience in AWS, SQL, Spring Boot, and Java.

+ The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and the ability to work in a hybrid model.

+ Experience in Property & Casualty Insurance is a plus.

+ This role involves developing, maintaining, and enhancing software applications to support our business objectives.

Salary and compensation

The annual salary for this position is between $68,442k – $131,500K depending on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
