Description We are looking for an experienced Billing Supervisor/Manager to lead and oversee the Accounts Receivable (AR) Billing team in Saint Paul, Minnesota. This role is critical in ensuring that billing operations are timely, accurate, and aligned with company policies, contractual obligations, and industry standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, expertise in billing processes, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic leadership to the billing team, promoting best practices and ensuring accurate and timely invoicing.

• Oversee daily billing operations, including task assignment, data monitoring, and compliance with company policies.

• Collaborate with project managers to prepare, review, and adjust pre-bill documents, ensuring alignment with contract terms.

• Manage and resolve complex customer billing issues, acting as a point of escalation for both internal and external stakeholders.

• Conduct thorough audits of billing processes to verify compliance with accounting standards and contractual guidelines.

• Work closely with corporate accounting to obtain necessary documentation, such as insurance or fringe details, to support billing activities.

• Lead initiatives to streamline billing procedures and enhance accuracy, minimizing operational inefficiencies.

• Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of billing specialists, fostering a culture of growth and collaboration.

• Assist with contract preparation, change orders, and pre-qualifications to support accurate billing.

• Participate in cross-functional projects focused on process improvement and organizational efficiency. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent experience.

• At least 10 years of experience managing Guaranteed Maximum Price projects and ensuring billing aligns with contract terms.

• Minimum of 6 years of experience supervising accounting functions across multiple locations or business units.

• Proven expertise in process improvement methodologies that enhance organizational efficiency.

• Advanced knowledge of billing and accounting procedures, including journal entries, sub-ledgers, and reconciliations.

• Strong leadership skills with demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and build high-performing teams.

• Proficiency in advanced Excel and familiarity with accounting software systems.

• Preferred experience in the construction industry, including understanding of AIA billing and time & materials billing.
