Responsibilities

As an Emergency Room Technician, you will deliver patient care and perform clinical procedures within the scope of your licensure under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and Provider.

DUTIES INCLUDE:

+ Assisting in implementing each patient's plan of care by performing common clinical procedures and other tasks within your scope of practice

+ Assisting with observation of patients, gathering data and identifying patient care needs

+ Responding to emergency situations

+ Assisting with patient transport and transfer

+ Assisting with cleaning, stocking and maintenance of department equipment and supplies

+ Adhering to safety and risk management standards

+ Assisting with clerical and communication tasks to support patient care

Qualifications

Education/Work Experience Requirements:

High school diploma (or GED equivalent) and completion of one of the following that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge skills/abilities:

+ Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program **_OR_**

+ Medical Assistant program **_OR_**

+ Certified Nursing Assistant program **_OR_**

+ Licensed Practical Nurse program **_OR_**

+ Paramedic (EMG) Program **_OR_**

+ Military Hospital Corpsman program (with validation) **_OR_**

+ Completion of one year of nursing school.

**Licensure/Certification** :

+ At hire, a candidate must have one of the following, current and recorded by the Washington State:

+ Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) by the Washington State Nursing Commission, **_OR_**

+ Current registration as a Registered Nursing Assistant (RNA) by the Washington State Nursing Commission, **_OR_**

+ Current certification as a Medical Assistant-Cert (MAC) by Washington State; **_OR_**

+ Current Washington State license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

+ An incumbent must maintain at least one clinical licensure (above) after hire.

+ Employees that possess a CNA or RNA license at the time of hire must submit an application to the Washington State Department of Health for Medical Assistant-Phlebotomy (MA-P) certification within 90 days of hire as evidenced by a proof of payment receipt. Certification must be received within 6 months of hire in the position and maintained as current thereafter in addition to their CNA or RNA license.

+ At hire, current healthcare provider BLS certification. Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.

Pay Range

$23.70 - $32.89 /hour
