    You will need to live within commuting distance of our Flower Mound, TX office. You will need to be in the office three days per week.

    What you will do

    + Under minimal supervision, design, develop, modify, and verify mechanical components for medical devices.

    + Under minimal supervision, work with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Clinical, Marketing and Project Management to ensure project success.

    + Translate design inputs to engineering specifications and produce sub-system level designs.

    + Apply fundamental and some advanced concepts, practices, and procedures for problem solving. Develop and analyze solutions, prototyping one or more options to provide proof of concept.

    + Demonstrate proficiency with the product’s intended use and clinical procedures. Demonstrate advanced understanding of customer needs and design inputs.

    + Follow fundamental industry standards, design requirements, and test strategies that apply to regulatory requirements.

    + Independently create or refine engineering documentation, such as the Design History file

    + Follow R&D procedure like design controls and risk management, per the Quality Management System.

    + Work on complex problems, applying advanced experience and learnings, while demonstrating ownership and prioritization of work with minimal supervision.

     

    What you need

    Required Qualifications:

    + Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, BioMedical, or related discipline.

    + 2+ years of work experience in mechanical design engineering.

    + Working knowledge and understanding of mechanical engineering practices and design principles.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Experience in a medical device industry/regulated industry will be preferred.

    + Knowledge of design and concept generation CAD or CAE modeling tools (Creo preferred)

    + Knowledge of analysis tools (i.e. DFMECA, Fault Tree Analysis, FEA, Stack-ups, etc.) and statistical methods (i.e.leveraging Minitab for ANOVA, normality testing, confidence calculations, etc.).

    + Technical ability to create engineering drawings and models, applying GD&T and CAE tools.

    + Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes to product design.
