Butler Machinery is looking for an Ag Technical Communicator to provide technical assistance to service, parts, sales, and our warranty departments. Our ideal candidate enjoys working with others, is mechanically minded, is comfortable providing feedback to suppliers, and is knowledgeable about Ag equipment. We have a generous pension plan with 10% guaranteed and up to 5% discretionary provided by the company annually once eligibility is met, with no minimum required contributions out of your pocket.
Responsibility:
+ Receive phone/email questions from the service department to provide guidance in the troubleshooting of product problems.
+ Monitor product issues to identify repetitive failures in a specific system or component and provide all details of the failure to the supplier seeking resolution then communicating resolution to service.
+ Work with BMC warranty department, enhancing supplier warranty and goodwill recovery.
+ Prepare and publish knowledge articles (TC Notes) informing associates of particular issues and their resolution by writing processes, preparing images.
+ Work with BMC and supplier Technical Training departments, focusing on technical training needs and processes.
+ Review product support programs from suppliers to determine accuracy and work process to limit dealer costs in implementing, then publishing.
+ Review supplier parts and service information for missing/incorrect information, then notify the supplier of needed corrections.
+ Works within and promotes the vision, mission, and values of BMC.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
+ A minimum of a two-year degree or equivalent experience and training is preferred.
+ Basic machine maintenance and operation are preferred.
+ Proficiency in the repair and diagnostics of equipment and its systems is preferred.
+ Must be able to be insurable under the BMC Driving Policy.
+ Ability to work and drive in adverse weather conditions.
+ Basic electrical and hydraulic systems design skills.
+ Basic Microsoft Office suite usage skills.
+ Proficient operation of supplier diagnostic tools and service-related documentation processes.
+ Good verbal and written communication skills.
+ Problem solving and "best practice" decision-making skills.
+ Personal skills for working in a team environment focus on "The Big Picture" approach versus individual or departmental view.
+ Knowledge of electrical, hydraulics, engine, and powertrain theory.
+ Product knowledge pertaining to the function, operation, and maintenance.
+ Technical writing ability.
+ Time management.
