A challenging opportunity is now available for an R&D Technician II in the Manufacturing and Product Technology (MPT) group of UOP R&D. The MPT group is accountable for the development of catalyst and adsorbent products from prototype to commercial production. MPT also provides technical support to UOP Integrated Supply Chain.
R & D Tech II will be responsible for performing an array of laboratory experiments, including extrusions, metal impregnation and finishing. It will also include a broad range of projects related to catalyst development, production support and scale-up. This role is located at McCook, IL.
The desired candidate will work an 8-hour day schedule, including some weekends and overtime as needed. Typical hours are 7:00-3:30.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Hands on execution of experimental plans in support of various technologies such as hydroprocessing, laboratory and semiworks scale catalyst development with responsibilities including forming, metal finishing and heat treatment of various materials
+ Material sizing, sampling, shipment, and storage
+ Interface with other UOP departments including DP MPT, Catalyst Business, Pilot Plants, ISC, Analytical and Advanced Characterization to ensure robust development programs and effective support of new and existing technologies
+ Participate in all departmental safety activities and conduct all work with a high degree of attention to safety; identify potential safety hazards and submit near miss reports
+ Maintaining and ordering necessary plant supplies through procurement
+ Utilize HOS concepts to achieve streamlined work areas and process flows including continuous improvement efforts
+ Handling of hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals is required with appropriate safety protocols
+ Lifting up to 35 lbs. (single carry) is required
The annual base salary range for this position is $25.38-$31.73 per hr. Please note that this
salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various

and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.

YOU MUST HAVE
+ High School Diploma or GED
+ At least 2 years of experience in laboratory, pilot plant or manufacturing environment
