    Accountant

    **Location:** Hybrid, Exton, PA

    Summary:

    We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant to join our global finance team at Bentley Systems, Incorporated, a publicly traded company. The ideal candidate will support day-to-day accounting functions and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the integrity and accuracy of financial records while contributing to quarterly and annual reporting processes required for public companies.

    Your Day-to-Day:

    + Prepare and post journal entries and maintain general ledger accounts

    + Assist in monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes

    + Reconcile bank accounts and balance sheet accounts

    + Assist with external quarterly reviews and year-end, providing documentation and explanations as needed

    + Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary financial data and information

    + Analyze financial data for variances, trends, and issues requiring attention

    + Support preparation of SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q) and related schedules

    + Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) internal control requirements

    What You Bring to The Team:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, a related field, or equivalent training and experience

    + 1-3 years of relevant accounting experience; public company experience preferred

    + Understanding of U.S. GAAP

    + Progress towards CPA certification is a plus

    + Strong organizational, time management, and analytical skills

    + High attention to detail and accuracy

    + This is a full-time role expected to work 40 hours per week, hybrid in the US.

    + Requires sitting or standing at will while performing work on a computer (or any other physical requirements (https://www.bls.gov/ors/factsheet/visual-overview-of-physical-demands.htm) ). The role requires communication with managers, peers, and other colleagues of the company in person (on occasion), and by utilizing Microsoft Teams chat, calling, and meeting functions.
