Post-Doctoral Fellow - 36756 Faculty
A Postdoctoral Associate position is available immediately in the group of Elan Eisenmesser at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. Our lab employs an integrative research strategy that combines structural biology, biochemistry, and molecular biology to investigate complex biological systems central to disease progression. We focus heavily on infectious disease mechanisms, with active projects centered on bacterial proteases that manipulate host pathways and large macromolecular assemblies involved in microbial metabolism. This position will involve advanced structural methods-particularly NMR spectroscopy and Cryo-EM-to explore protein structure, dynamics, and function in the context of pathogenic interactions. Our lab is housed in a well-equipped research environment at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. We have direct access to: For more details, please visit: https://medschool.cuanschutz.edu/biochemistry/people/primary-faculty/eisenmesser-elan (https://apptrkr.com/get\_redirect.php?id=6201617&targetURL=https://medschool.cuanschutz.edu/biochemistry/people/primary-faculty/eisenmesser-elan)
- this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO.
Our department conducts research across a wide biological scale for fundamental scientific understanding with applications to many disease contexts. The overarching goal is to reach a level of molecular insight that helps develop therapeutic approaches to disease. As biochemists and molecular geneticists, we are amid an unprecedented time of discovery - our conception of the molecular biology of cells is going from the equivalent of grainy black-and-white to high-resolution technicolor. From deciphering the choreography of transcription complexes, chromosomes, and RNA molecules within cells to developing novel approaches to 3D molecular structure determination to understanding how viruses hijack a cell's machinery and alter its metabolome, the researchers in Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics (BMG) are at the forefronts of their fields both conceptually and technologically.
