In support of Planned Parenthood of Central and Western New York (PPCWNY)’s mission, theCollege Advocatewill be responsible for providing crisis intervention, case management, advocacy, and follow-up services to victims of sexual assault, domestic violence and stalking; provide comprehensive services in partnership with police (campus and local), district attorney and other campus based and/or community-based agencies serving students. Office space located on multiple college campuses. The primary worksite for this position will be in Monroe County but travel to all 5 counties RESTORE provides
Essential Functions
Direct Service
+ Maintains a commitment to the mission and work of PPCWNY with a deep appreciation for and sensitivity to the guiding principles of the organization
+ Maintains a commitment to quality client service for the agency, allied partners, members, and communities at large
+ Assists in ensuring provision of RESTORE services co-located at various campus settings
+ Provides follow up and case management services to assist with: reduction in victimization, increased level of functioning, improved capacity for independence, reduction in level of isolation
+ Performs follow-up site visits and outreach to clients
+ Provides on-site crisis intervention response to victims of rape/sexual assault on campus
+ Assists in obtaining Office of Victim Services compensation
+ Provides criminal justice and/or campus based judiciary advocacy as well as personal advocacy
+ Maintains appropriate client records, analyze and report client and program data; Maintain client database
+ Provides mandatory 24 hour on-call direct service (hospital and hotline) and/or consultation to volunteer advocates per policy, including administrative back up duties
Education & Outreach
+ Promotes an understanding of the issue of sexual assault and assist professionals in developing strategies to prevent sexual assault on campuses
+ Provides prevention education on college campuses following Enough is Enough guidelines
+ Participates in events on campus: health fairs, Take Back the Night, Walk a Mile in her Shoes, Clothesline Project, movie screenings, panel discussions, club meetings, committees, etc.
+ Works with the regional RESTORE team to write regular revisions/updates to all college specific training materials (conduct protocols, volunteer training curricula and manuals, community resources and professional referral lists)
+ Ensures proper documentation is written for client records, annual and funder reports, etc.
+ Is aware of annual goals and objectives of the organization and participates in their attainment by focusing on the education and counseling needs of our clients and patients (sensitivity and diversity training, etc.)
+ Develops and presents in-service programs to other PPCWNY staff, as needed
Other Accountability Activities
+ Must sign up for On Call shifts at a minimum of two shifts per month including one week night and one weekend 24 hour shift on a rotating basis with all staff, including holidays, providing coverage to all Counties RESTORE serves including: Monroe, Genesee, Livingston, Orleans, and Wyoming
+ Participates in affiliate initiatives
+ Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the department
+ Shows respect to all internal and external customers for differences in backgrounds, lifestyles, viewpoints and needs
Requirements
Qualifications
Applicants must possess the following qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience):
Education—
+ Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Public Health, Social Work, Education or a related field
Experience—
+ A minimum of three years of experience in human services/crisis counseling field
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
+ Demonstrated knowledge of sexual violence, domestic violence and stalking dynamics and effects, public awareness and crisis intervention services
+ Clear and calm judgment centered on survivors, discretion and competency for strategic and diplomatic collaboration
+ Must have reliable transportation and a valid NYS driver’s license not in jeopardy of being revoked; ability to respond to emergency calls within thirty minutes
+ Professional verbal and written communication skills
+ Must have excellent organizational skills with great attention to detail and be able to maintain accurate records
+ Ability to set goals and create timelines for implementation; must be able to work independently on behalf of survivors and collaboratively with coworkers and colleagues
+ Strong ability to work effectively within and outside of the campus system in developing relationships and programs to address advocacy issues and needs
+ Excellent skills in assessing levels of emotional distress and reacting appropriately
+ Awareness of best practices of sexual violence prevention, risk reduction and survivor support strategies
+ Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends, holidays, provide 24-hour coverage and travel within the region
+ Must have successfully completed sexual assault advocacy program training

Physical Requirements
+ Possess sufficient mobility to perform the Essential Functions listed in this Job Description with or without an accommodation
+ Ability to travel to all agency locations as assigned
Work Schedule
This is a full-time, 40 hour a week, position; regular schedule will be Monday – Friday with occasional evenings and weekends, as well as on-call responsibilities.
Benefits & Compensation
At PPCWNY, we are committed to equitable compensation practices and transparency. In alignment with these efforts, the pay for this position ranges from $20.71 to $24.05/hour. Actual compensation will be determined by experience and other factors permitted by law.
