Are you passionate about chemistry, materials, and precise color matching? We are seeking a dedicated Chemist Technician to support our team in developing and refining color solutions for restoration and preservation projects. This role offers up to $24 per hour and the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment applying advanced color measurement technology and materials science.
• Key Responsibilities:
+ Perform detailed color matching and formulation adjustments
+ Conduct chemical experiments and develop testing procedures to ensure product durability and accuracy
+ Prepare samples and test materials in accordance with ASTM standards and preservation guidelines
+ Collaborate with team members on sample creation, testing, and data collection
+ Assist in evaluating new materials and performing performance assessments
+ Support small batch production and provide operational assistance in the lab and factory setting
+ Troubleshoot and solve technical challenges related to color formulations
+ Document findings and maintain accurate lab records
• Qualifications:
+ Basic knowledge of chemical principles, lab safety, and proper handling of materials
+ Experience with color measurement tools and formulation techniques is a plus
+ Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
+ Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment
+ Prior experience with ASTM standards or historic preservation guidelines is advantageous
