We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer with strong experience in complex project types. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited university, be a Licensed P.E., and possess excellent written and oral communication skills. This role requires the ability to assume responsibility and effectively interface with clients, architects, and other trades. The candidate should be capable of presenting design options to the team, architects, and clients for evaluation, and managing within a team environment on multiple design and construction projects. Attention to detail and the ability to manage time and budget to meet project deliverables and schedules is crucial. A strong understanding of all A/E disciplines and project coordination, along with field experience, is necessary.
Responsibilities
+ Assume responsibility and effectively interface with clients, architects, and other trades.
+ Present design options to the team, architects, and clients for evaluation.
+ Manage within a team environment on multiple design and construction projects.
+ Ensure project deliverables and schedules are met by managing time and budget effectively.
+ Coordinate all A/E disciplines and project aspects.
+ Utilize field experience to understand construction principles, methods, and best practices.
+ Prepare construction documents and sketches using AutoCAD MEP, Navisworks, and Revit MEP.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited university.
+ Licensed P.E.
+ Excellent written and oral communication skills.
+ 10+ years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer.
+ 10+ years of experience utilizing AutoCAD MEP & Revit.
+ Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, Bluebeam Revu, Procore, Prolog.
+ Experience managing projects and junior staff.
+ Thorough understanding of local and State codes, including NYC Mechanical, Building, Energy Conservation, and Fire Protection codes.
+ Strong understanding of A/E disciplines and project coordination.
+ Field experience with construction principles, methods, and best practices.
Qualifications
+ Data Center/commercial experience.
+ LEED accreditation and Green Building initiatives preferred.
+ Mission Critical experience preferred.
+ Commissioning (Cx) experience a plus.
Work Environment
+ This position requires 4 days in the office and 1 day remote. The opportunity involves working on some of the most complex projects across the US, providing a great professional experience due to heavy infrastructure and complicated systems.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $37.00 - $50.00/hr.
