    Job Title: Drafter/DesignerJob Description

     

    This role involves creating precise and accurate drawings of trailers, parts, and related manufactured components using drafting and engineering software. You will continuously update procedure changes and maintain an accurate library of trailer designs, components, and related parts. Additionally, you will create precise sales layout drawings of trailers for orders and quotes to assist the Sales Department, Manufacturing Operations, and Engineering. You will develop accurate and current plant layout drawings to assist the Plant Manager, Director of Human Resources/Safety, and Plant Operations staff as needed. Collaborating effectively with Plant Operations, Engineering, and Sales teams is crucial to ensure customer requirements are met effectively. You must ensure the completion of accurate, high-quality work within established timelines. Regular attendance and punctuality are essential to this role.

    Responsibilities

    + Create precise and accurate drawings of trailers, parts, and related manufactured components using drafting and engineering software.

    + Continuously update procedure changes and maintain an accurate library of trailer designs, components, and related parts.

    + Create precise sales layout drawings of trailers for orders and quotes to assist the Sales Department, Manufacturing Operations, and Engineering.

    + Develop accurate and current plant layout drawings to assist the Plant Manager, Director of Human Resources/Safety, and Plant Operations staff as needed.

    + Collaborate effectively with Plant Operations, Engineering, and Sales teams to ensure customer requirements are met effectively.

    + Ensure the completion of accurate, high-quality work within established timelines.

    + Regular attendance and punctuality are essential to this role.

    + Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficient in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.

    + Detail-oriented and thorough with strong problem-solving skills.

    + Familiarity with fabrication and assembly practices.

    + Knowledge in mechanical design and drafting, particularly sheet metal.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities.

    + Effective collaboration with vendors, customers, and colleagues.

    + Self-starter with a sense of urgency and initiative.

    + Organized and self-motivated.

    Work Environment

    The work environment is a combination of office, manufacturing plant, and outdoor settings. There is exposure to various environmental conditions, including extreme heat and cold, while moving between buildings. Additionally, there may be exposure to loud noises while in the plant environment.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
