Assistant Construction Manager

Job Description

The Assistant Construction Manager will collaborate with clients, architects, estimating engineers, and superintendents to oversee food facility construction projects ranging from $5 to $80 million. This role requires guiding projects from pre-construction through to project close-out, with a focus on fostering repeat business within a specialized industry niche. The position demands up to 100% travel for the first few years and involves administering, estimating, controlling costs, and managing high-profile food industry projects.

Responsibilities

+ Manage and coordinate construction projects from pre-construction to close-out.

+ Administer project estimates and control costs effectively.

+ Collaborate with subcontractors and attend construction meetings.

+ Review and approve payment requests.

+ Ensure adherence to project schedules and manage change orders.

+ Maintain daily logs and manage construction documents.

+ Conduct job cost analysis and punch list management.

+ Uphold safety protocols, including wearing hard hats, safety glasses, and high-visibility attire on site.

Essential Skills

+ Proven skills in construction and project management.

+ Experience in project engineering and construction management.

+ Familiarity with change orders and construction document management.

+ Ability to perform job cost analysis and adhere to project schedules.

+ Competence in punch list management and safety training.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field.

+ 0-2 years of experience as a Project Manager in construction projects.

+ Experience with food-related construction projects is advantageous.

+ EIT license is beneficial.

+ Proficiency in Procore or Timberline is a plus.

+ Willingness to travel up to 100% of the time for the first two years.

Work Environment

The role is based on project sites, requiring adherence to safety protocols including wearing hard hats, safety glasses, and high-visibility attire. No medical monitoring or certifications are necessary for this position

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.44 - $34.00/hr.
