Job Title: Satellite Electrical Design Engineer

Job Description

Design and develop complex command and data handling systems for satellite missions, including command and telemetry subsystems, data handling subsystems, and power distribution and management systems. Support the integration and testing of C&DH systems, including the development of test plans and procedures, and the execution of tests in both laboratory and flight environments.

Generate electrical architecture solutions for new project needs, perform electrical engineering analyses for systems and circuits, document findings, communicate results to engineering and program management staff, give technical presentations, and manage technical effort schedules. Formulate plans, typically multi-year, and coordinate solutions development and deployment including documentation, reporting, publishing, and making technical and other presentations to ensure the viability of the solutions in an evolving environment.

Responsibilities

+ Design and develop complex command and data handling systems for satellite missions.

+ Support the integration and testing of C&DH systems, including developing test plans and procedures, and executing tests in both laboratory and flight environments.

+ Generate electrical architecture solutions for new project needs.

+ Perform electrical engineering analyses for systems and circuits.

+ Document findings and communicate results to engineering and program management staff.

+ Give technical presentations and manage technical effort schedules.

+ Formulate multi-year plans and coordinate solutions development and deployment.

Essential Skills

+ Experience in electrical design and electrical requirements.

+ Expertise in command and data handling systems.

+ Proficiency in electrical engineering.

+ Experience with Altium and electrical PCB design.

+ Knowledge of satellite subsystems and power distribution.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience designing systems that have gone into space.

Work Environment

Office/manufacturing environment. Join a team of 14 people, working cross-functionally with the mechanical engineering team. Enjoy a 9/80 schedule (every Friday off) and unlimited PTO. The open office environment is complemented by regularly scheduled social events such as top golf, happy hours, and rapids games.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $98000.00 - $170000.00/yr.
