    We are seeking a skilled software engineer to contribute to the unit testing of code for a Linux-based system that functions as a clinician programmer. The ideal candidate will have experience in developing and performing unit tests for software connected to physical devices. While experience in the medical device or regulated industry is advantageous, it is not mandatory. Proficiency with JUnit is required.

    Responsibilities

    + Develop and test medical device software, documenting design and requirements while leveraging best-practice object-oriented design methodologies and technologies.

    + Independently analyze and debug complex problems that span multiple engineering disciplines, drawing on experience to drive pragmatic solutions.

    + Identify and implement continuous improvements to work processes, procedures, and tools.

    + Participate in Agile software development activities, including scrums, sprint planning, and regular process tracking to facilitate effective project management.

    + Exemplify commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance with documented quality system processes and standards.

    + Demonstrate dedication and enthusiasm for building products that save and improve lives.

    Essential Skills

    + Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related major.

    + 5+ years of work experience with a Bachelor’s degree or 3+ years with a Master's degree.

    + Expertise with core software development and object-oriented design patterns.

    + Proficiency with Perl, Python, and shell scripting.

    + Extensive experience in developing JUnit-based unit tests and integration tests.

    + Strong written and verbal communication skills.

    + Experience in multi-threaded development on dedicated Linux or Android hardware platforms.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience in the regulated software industry, such as medical devices, defense, aerospace, or similar fields.

    + Familiarity with regulatory standards including IEC, FDA 510(k), among others.

    Work Environment

    The position requires onsite work on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with the option to work hybrid on Monday and Friday as workload dictates. The work environment is an Agile development setting with 6-week sprints. Employees can enjoy 2 weeks of PTO and 11 paid holidays.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $56.00/hr.
