Job Title: Financial Reporting AnalystJob Description

Assists with the quarterly financial statement close process across the department and reviews various reconciliations as part of the quarterly close process. Prepares and reviews key financial statement analysis files as part of the quarterly close process. Contributes to process improvement initiatives for the financial statement close process. Prepares and/or reviews quarterly/annual statutory financial statement filings, audited statutory financial statements, variance analysis, supplemental filings, quarterly RBC computations, and audited benefit plan financial statements. Works directly with internal and external auditors on various reviews and audits. Performs other related accounting, reporting, and record-keeping work as needed across the department.

Responsibilities

+ Assist with the quarterly financial statement close process.

+ Review various reconciliations as part of the quarterly close process.

+ Prepare and review key financial statement analysis files.

+ Contribute to process improvement initiatives for the financial statement close process.

+ Prepare and/or review quarterly/annual statutory financial statement filings.

+ Prepare and/or review audited statutory financial statements.

+ Prepare and/or review variance analysis.

+ Prepare and/or review supplemental filings.

+ Prepare and/or review quarterly RBC computations.

+ Prepare and/or review audited benefit plan financial statements.

+ Work directly with internal and external auditors on various reviews and audits.

+ Perform other related accounting, reporting, and record-keeping work as needed across the department.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Bachelor’s degree from a four-year accredited college or university in accounting, finance, or a related field of study, plus five (5) years of progressively responsible related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

+ Prior experience and proficiency with MS Excel and MS Access.

+ Experience working with annual statement software.

+ Experience using Workiva is desired but not required.

+ CPA preferred.

Work Environment

Hybrid work environment, ideally located in the Des Moines market. Currently requires 2 days in the office.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $108000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
