Job Title: Header Operator

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Header Operator to work with Formax Headers, a type of cold forming machine known for producing high-quality fasteners and parts. This role requires precision, speed, and the ability to efficiently manage changeovers. The successful candidate will operate equipment and perform complex machine setups in a safe and efficient manner.

Responsibilities

+ Operate and adjust equipment safely as trained.

+ Determine tooling adjustments for proper setups on various header sizes and types.

+ Read and understand blueprints.

+ Properly use gauges and other quality tools to ensure the production of quality parts.

+ Perform first piece inspections and monitor the quality of all parts.

+ Make adjustments to maintain quality standards.

+ Perform minor preventative maintenance and complete all required tracking documents.

+ Record data for SPC and ISO/IATF documentation.

Essential Skills

+ 3-5 years of experience in cold/warm heading and forming machinery.

+ 3-5 years of experience in setting up, operating, and troubleshooting cold headers.

+ 3-5 years of tooling experience, including die setting and tooling tech/repair.

+ Experience working with fasteners or screws in roles such as die setter, thread operator, roll operator, or header operator.

+ Ability to read blueprints, and use micrometers and calipers.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Good mechanical aptitude.

+ Ability to perform basic math.

+ GED/High school diploma is a plus.

+ Experience running Formax Headers.

Work Environment

The role is primarily on the 1st shift from 7 am to 3 pm. The facility is primarily focused on the automotive industry, with minor involvement in aerospace, construction, and commercial sectors. The environment is noisy and can be hot in the summer, with machines that are dirty and oily. General PPE gear, including ear plugs, safety glasses, and steel-toe shoes, is required. The dress code is casual, with clothing that you don't mind getting dirty, such as old jeans and a t-shirt. Company shirts will likely be provided.

This is a Permanent position based out of Belvidere, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $47840.00 - $66560.00/yr.

Up to $36.00 per hour

2nd Shift Bonus $1.50 per hour

Sign on Bonus up to $3,000*

Training Bonus up to $1,000*

Quarterly Attendance and Plant Bonus

13 Paid Holidays-including week between Christmas and New Years

401k + Company Match

Benefits begin day 1
