CNC Machinist

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist proficient in setting up, programming, and operating CNC mills and lathes. This role involves changing out tooling, clamps, vices, performing offsets, and zeroing out the machine. The machinist will be responsible for 1st piece and through-process quality inspection using micrometers and calipers, ensuring proper gauging for the intended job and understanding blueprints. The machinist will produce precision components according to blueprints and perform all necessary part inspections using specified gauging instruments.

Responsibilities

+ Set up, program, and operate CNC mills and lathes.

+ Change out tooling, clamps, and vices, and perform offsets and zeroing out the machine.

+ Conduct 1st piece and through-process quality inspections using micrometers and calipers.

+ Ensure proper gauging is used for the intended job and comprehend blueprints.

+ Produce precision components in accordance with blueprints.

+ Perform all necessary part inspections using specified gauging instruments (micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, etc.).

+ Perform setup for new or existing components to be machined.

+ Obtain necessary tooling for machining processes.

Essential Skills

+ 2-5+ years of CNC setup or operating experience.

+ Proficiency in operating CNC mills or lathes.

+ Ability to perform quality checks utilizing micrometers, calipers, and various gauges.

+ Familiarity with blueprint reading and interpretation.

+ Experience with quality inspection processes and CNC setup.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with Siemens and Fanuc controls is advantageous.

+ Candidates with CNC schooling and experience are welcome to apply.

Work Environment

Our facility is air-controlled, well-lit, and very organized, providing a comfortable and efficient work environment. Employees will work with 120 CNC machines, including 60 mills and 60 lathes, featuring various brands and G & M Code-based controllers. The atmosphere includes a slight smell of oil and metal, typical of a machining environment. The break room offers hot and cold food options, and the training room includes a golf simulator to enhance the work-life balance.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $40.00/hr.
