Overview

Pactiv Evergreen [Raleigh] manufactures and distributes gable top beverage cartons. The company's product portfolio includes a wide variety of beverage carton sizes, styles, and printing capabilities.

The facility operates 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

Candidates must be pursuing degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering, at NC State College Only.

Responsibilities

Role Responsibilities:

+ Perform research, design and development, evaluation, and improvement of manufacturing processes and methods including production flow and production equipment.

+ Analyze and plan work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and design layout of equipment and workspaces for maximum efficiency.

+ Evaluate current manufacturing systems to determine areas for improvement and recommend implementation schedules.

+ Complete projects related to cost reduction/savings, Continuous Improvement and Lean activities, and Automation Implementation.

+ Serve as participating member for teams during Kaizen events and follow up to assist supervisors to sustain work improvements.

+ Design, develop, and test and/or source and cost-justify various tools, machinery, and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods.

+ Confer with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluate products according to specifications and quality standards.

+ Apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.

+ Distribute product/part drawings to appropriate plant personnel.

+ Assist in developing our equipment database in Maintenance Connect, our CMMS software. This includes adding/updating documentation, drawings, BOM’s, etc.

+ Assist in maximizing the efficient utilization of the parts room and make recommendations on improving processes and organization.

Qualifications:

+ Understanding of Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing techniques, Quality Control, and attention to detail.

+ Strong problem analysis and problem resolution.

+ Must be a well-organized and self-directed individual who is a team player.

+ Strong mathematical and analytical skills.

+ Advanced Microsoft Suite knowledge preferred.

+ 2D and/or 3D CAD knowledge strongly preferred.

Our facility is located in Raleigh, North Carolina, which is also home to North Carolina State University and the state's capitol. Opened in 1953 and employing 260 team members. The facility prints and die cuts refrigerated gable top cartons for a variety of global brands found in retail groceries throughout the US. It also extrudes cupstock and foil board and has received the State of North Carolina Excellence Award for the last 20 years.
