Job Title: Machine Operator
Job Description
Join our dynamic team as a Machine Operator where you will work with HMI screens to communicate, diagnose, and run machines efficiently. You will receive training on lockout/tagout procedures and quality points across various departments. Your role will include operating and maintaining packaging equipment, ensuring safety and cleanliness, and striving to learn and master all the machines.
Responsibilities
+ Operate HMI screens consistently to manage and diagnose machine issues.
+ Perform weekly lockout/tagout procedures for machine sterilization.
+ Communicate effectively with technicians regarding machine performance issues.
+ Clean and sterilize machinery on a weekly basis.
+ Clear jams and perform emergency stops as necessary.
+ Operate filler machines and address jams by executing emergency stops when needed.
+ Gain a thorough understanding of machine operations and troubleshoot any discrepancies.
+ Operate packaging equipment such as check weighers, metal detectors, and x-ray machines.
+ Manually blend ingredients in the brine and blending area, following system prompts.
+ Work with case packers and palletizers in the packaging area.
+ Load materials for packaging, including cups, film, and boxes.
+ Perform quality checks on seals, code dates, and visual aspects of packaging.
+ Lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods throughout the shift.
Essential Skills
+ 3+ years of machine operator experience in an industrial environment.
+ 2+ years of experience with HMI systems, including monitoring and troubleshooting.
+ Experience with changeovers, preventative maintenance, and packaging operations.
+ Strong attention to detail and safety consciousness.
+ Ability to work collaboratively as a part of a team.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in food, canning, liquid, milk, or cosmetic industries is advantageous.
+ Packaging experience is a plus.
+ Manufacturing experience required.

Work Environment
This is a union environment with a structured break schedule during 12-hour shifts. The work areas vary in temperature: the filler room is moderately warm and wet, upstairs requires jacket weather at around 50 degrees, packaging is dry and temperature-controlled, and the processing area is very hot but has cooling zones. The schedule is 4 PM to 4 AM, with opportunities for overtime, including weekends.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Memphis, Tennessee.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.28 - $22.28/hr.
