Job Title: Coating Operator
Job Description
As a Coating Technician, you will play a crucial role in the electrode manufacturing process, creating high-quality anode and cathode electrodes. This position requires dexterity and attention to detail, as you will be responsible for the electrode coating processes. This includes machine start-up, loading machines with coating mixtures, troubleshooting process issues, conducting in-process quality checks, ensuring finished product quality, and maintaining documentation. You will become a subject matter expert in the roll-to-roll process of slot die coating.
Responsibilities
+ Understand process capabilities through design of experiments and data analysis.
+ Develop and optimize process conditions for new materials, recipes, and designs.
+ Lead new process development from validation at pilot scales to scale-up in mass production.
+ Drive a multi-functional team to solve technically complex problems using first principles and data-driven methodologies.
Essential Skills
+ Experience in machine operation within a manufacturing environment.
+ Troubleshooting skills for automated machines.
+ Responsibility for in-process and finished product quality in manufacturing.
+ Ability to stand on feet all day.
+ Wearing steel-toed shoes.
+ Physical ability to lift 50lbs and perform tasks that require bending, squatting, and lifting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience operating mechanical slitter, calender, coater, or punching equipment.

Work Environment
The work environment is clean to meet battery manufacturing standards, though the coating area can be slightly dirtier due to coating materials. The facility is temperature-controlled, maintaining around 75 degrees in warmer areas during summer. The position is on the 1st shift, Monday through Friday, from 8am to 4pm.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, Indiana.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.00/hr.
