    Job Title: Color Sorter Operator

    Job Description

    The Color Sorter Operator is responsible for monitoring, cleaning, and maintaining the operation of electronic eyes and sizing system equipment to ensure the separation of damaged products and foreign materials from good products while maintaining APSA grades. The role involves managing equipment used to size, convey, and clean shelled peanuts in shelling and blanching plants and ensuring the sanitation of the entire facility.

    Responsibilities

    + Monitor, clean, and maintain electronic eyes and sizing system equipment.

    + Disassemble and reassemble various items inside electronic eyes, including ejectors, lamps, and control boards.

    + Communicate with colleagues regarding equipment operation, changes in flow rates, processing capabilities, and safety and maintenance issues.

    + Complete daily assigned tasks related to paperwork, sanitation, maintenance, safety assignments, and food safety requirements.

    + Perform extensive climbing and lifting tasks as required.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience in production and manufacturing equipment operation.

    + Knowledge of machine operating in the manufacturing industry.

    + Proficiency in sorting and general production tasks.

    + Ability to perform preventative and corrective maintenance.

    + Strong troubleshooting skills.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + High School Diploma preferred.

    + Previous machine operating experience in a manufacturing facility preferred.

    + Ability to work as part of a team.

    + Good communication skills.

    + Physical dexterity.

    + Willingness to work in shifts, including late or early hours, weekends, and overtime.

    The work environment is a non-climate-controlled facility, requiring flexibility in shifts and readiness to work in varying conditions.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rochelle, Georgia.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $17.00/hr.
