Welding Supervisor - San Diego, CA

Responsibilities

+ Lead the establishment and development of the welding department, including the selection and installation of equipment.

+ Supervise and train welding personnel to ensure high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety protocols.

+ Develop and implement welding procedures and standards in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

+ Monitor welding operations to ensure compliance with air quality permits and health risk assessments as per San Diego County's APCD Rule 11.

+ Ensure the facility meets all city codes and regulations for welding operations, including obtaining necessary permits.

+ Conduct regular inspections and audits to maintain compliance with industry standards and certifications.

+ Manage the documentation and reporting of welding activities, including historical welding rod usage data and SDS composition data.

+ Collaborate with other departments to integrate welding processes into overall manufacturing operations.

Essential Skills

+ Minimum of 5 years of practical welding experience in a fabrication, construction, or welding-related industry.

+ Proven experience in setting up and managing a welding department.

+ Certified Welding Supervisor (CWS) certification from the American Welding Society (AWS) or equivalent certification preferred.

+ NDT Level III certification from the American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) or equivalent is preferred.

+ Strong knowledge of welding techniques, materials, and equipment.

+ Excellent leadership and communication skills.

+ Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
