    Job Title: CNC Mill Machinist

    Job Description

    We are seeking a skilled CNC Set Up Machinist who specializes in Milling Machining Centers. The successful candidate will be responsible for machining parts and operating and setting up 3 and 4 axis milling machines. This role primarily involves setting up and operating a CNC Mill, with occasional manual machining required to produce parts using drill presses, surface grinders, Bridgeport mills, and manual lathes. You will take blueprints and transform them into finished parts, setting up and building your own tools such as drills, taps, and end mills. Proficiency in using edge finders and indicators for setups is essential.

    Responsibilities

    + Set up and operate 3 and 4 axis CNC milling machines.

    + Perform manual machining tasks using drill presses, surface grinders, Bridgeport mills, and manual lathes.

    + Interpret blueprints and create parts from them.

    + Build and set up tools such as drills, taps, and end mills.

    + Use edge finders and indicators for machine setups.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in CNC mill setup and operation.

    + Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

    + Skill in using gauges, calipers, micrometers, and indicators.

    + Knowledge of tooling and GD&T standards.

    + Experience with Fanuc control systems.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience in both vertical and horizontal milling.

    + Capability to machine materials ranging from aluminum to mild steel.

    Work Environment

     

    Work in a well-equipped machine shop featuring assembly, manual machining, and CNC machinery. The facility includes 4 vertical 3-axis mills and 2 horizontal 4-axis mills. The shop operates from 6:00am to 2:30pm.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rockford, Illinois.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00/hr.
