Job Title: Extrusion Operator - 2nd Shift
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled extrusion operator to operate extrusion machines efficiently. The role involves performing set-ups, changeovers, and in-process quality checks on products to ensure high standards are maintained.
Responsibilities
+ Support the vision, mission, and guiding principles of the company.
+ Observe applicable Safety, Health, and Environmental rules and guidelines while performing procedures, using appropriate personal protective equipment.
+ Attend and participate in relevant training opportunities and seminars.
+ Adhere to company operating procedures, benefit rules, employment policies, and safety policies.
+ Maintain frequent contact with associates and occasional contact with management outside of the department.
+ Ensure production follows proper procedures and methods.
+ Conduct controls such as thickness, length, and width checks as per established procedures.
+ Regularly inspect the quality of work produced.
+ Process daily paperwork.
+ Assist in special projects to develop new processes, equipment, and/or products.
+ Maintain high standards of safety and housekeeping.
+ Perform packaging and shipping functions from Warehouse 80.
+ Alert supervisor of needs and problems.
+ Perform other duties as required by management.
Essential Skills
+ Experience with extrusion machines and machine operation in a manufacturing environment.
+ Mechanically inclined with knowledge of manufacturing processes.
+ Ability to utilize basic measuring tools and possess computer skills.
+ Ability to use a calculator and tape measure.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Preferred - High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
+ Required - 3 years of experience as a Level 2 Technician.

Work Environment
The work environment is pleasant and clean, dealing with plastics and featuring new extrusion machines. The facility hosts about 120+ employees and offers a supportive management team. The job requires frequent standing, walking, sitting, and the ability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally. Specific vision abilities are necessary, including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Middletown, Connecticut.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr.
