    Job Title: Receiving Material Handler 1st Shift

    Job Description

    We are seeking a dedicated Receiving Material Handler for our 1st shift. You will play a crucial role in unloading merchandise and ensuring it is properly staged and verified. Your ability to operate a forklift, pallet jack, and handheld scanner will be essential in maintaining the flow of goods within our warehouse.

    Responsibilities

    + Unload merchandise using a forklift, pallet jack, or by hand.

    + Stage inbound merchandise in the scanning area.

    + Verify pallet count and sign the freight bill of lading.

    + Operate a handheld scanner to identify and sort merchandise by department.

    + Place the correct receiving label on products.

    + Restack and wrap products for transportation and stocking.

    + Communicate any overages, shortages, or damages to the Supervisor.

    + Deliver scanned merchandise to appropriate staging areas in the warehouse.

    + Meet quality and productivity standards.

    + Follow directions from the Supervisor.

    + Maintain excellent attendance and reliability.

    + Adhere to housekeeping guidelines in the distribution center.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience with forklifts and pallet jacks.

    + Proficiency with RF scanners.

    + Material handling experience.

    + Understanding of inventory and shipping processes.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + High School diploma preferred.

    + Commitment to high safety standards.

    + Willingness to work overtime as needed.

    + Strong comprehension, organizational, and math skills.

    + Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    + Ability to interact effectively with other departments and management.

    + Skill in maintaining accurate records and solving problems.

    + Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.

    + Team player with a positive attitude.

    + Power Equipment certification is a plus.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rome, New York.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $19.50/hr.
