    Position Overview:

    Prepares and maintains financial statements and reporting requirements across the finance organization. Identifies and interprets financial trends, income statement variances, and events that impact financial performance or reporting.

     

    Establishes and maintains strong, collaborative relationships with all customers to identify additional ways to be of service and ensure customer satisfaction. Maintains a positive and professional work relationship with all customers and members of teams.

     

    The Health System Specialty Pharmacy Accounting Analyst will oversee the outpatient pharmacy revenue cycle, including accounts receivable management, insurance remittance posting, and reconciliation of 835 files in EPIC Professional Billing. The role requires working closely with insurance payers to ensure accurate payment and collections. Prior experience with EPIC Hospital or Professional Billing systems is preferred. A background in pharmacy financial processes and insurance workflows is highly desirable.

    JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    Assignment Specific Responsibilities

    • Maintains statements of earnings, balance sheets, and other reports in various systems

    • Prepares financial statements and reports for monthly, quarterly and year-end close

    • Performs regularly scheduled and ad hoc financial and regulatory reporting

    • Prepares reports for internal groups, external auditors, affiliated companies and regulatory agencies

    • Prepares reports for monthly capitation reporting package, including trends of utilization, medical costs an analysis of incurred but not reported medical expenses

    • Coordinates activities around an assigned book of business, including managing the tax and audit schedules and reconciliations

    • In initial year, participates in cross-training and job enlargement opportunities for major job responsibilities. Works with direct supervisor to identify minor set of responsibilities to develop and perform in support of peaks, valleys and cycles and individual career growth opportunities. Performs both major and minor responsibilities after initial year

    • Supports the implementation of programs, policies, initiatives, and tools

    • Contributes ideas and actions towards the continuous improvement of tax, audit, and reporting related processes within area of influence

    • Ensures delivery of business results by meeting or exceeding all individual operating metrics

    • Plans and organizes work so objectives are realized

    • Recognizes and communicates potential issues to his/her team leader as appropriate

    People Development

    • Adaptable to learning new processes, concepts, and skills

    • Seeks and responds to regular performance feedback from team lead; provides upward feedback as needed

    • Assists in orientation and appropriate training of team members, helps cross-train peers in minor responsibilities; acts as a mentor to peers

    Relationship Management

    • Maintains positive work relationships with members of other teams to communicate effectively and to ensure compliance with cross-team responsibilities

    • Assists in ensuring efforts of the team support building strong peer-to-peer relationships

    EDUCATION:

    _Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma._

     

    Bachelor's in Finance, Accounting, Business or Related Field

    TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

    2 years recent relevant experience

    SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

    Knowledge of accounting and/or finance

     

    In-depth knowledge of financial analysis and reporting methodologies

     

    Knowledge of data warehousing and relational database systems

     

    Knowledge of basic accounting principles, including generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)

     

    Knowledge of policies, practices and procedures a plus

     

    Familiarity with Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD) Chart of Accounts is preferred

     

    Familiarity with performance metrics and ability to meet identified targets a plus

     

    General understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and enabling technologies (e.g. contact center technologies) is beneficial

     

    Ability to learn new applications/software systems effectively and efficiently

     

    Ability to translate data analysis into suitable reports for presentation

     

    Ability to perform data analysis on complex data sets

     

    Ability to provide constructive feedback to team members to support continuous improvement

     

    Ability to process requests consistently with high level of accuracy

     

    Ability to work with, train and coach other team members

     

    Ability to prioritize problems and promptly resolve or escalate when necessary

     

    Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with and collaborate with the organization as needed

     

    Strong communication skills and have the ability to train others

     

    Strong time management skills and ability to manage individual assignments and complete duties within tight deadlines

     

    Ability to recognize the appropriate style, level of detail, and message for the audience

     

    Requires the ability to work with and maintain confidential information

    Pay Range is $46.29 to $69.44 / hour

     

    _The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
